Welcome to the Online Application System for North Carolina Public Schools
This page will guide you in completing the online application for North Carolina Public Schools. If you ever need to return to this page, you can click on the Help link located in the top menu and choose "Getting Started". Each School District may require additional information before the application process is complete. After you have submitted your application, please check the individual school system website(s) to see if they require additional information, completed forms, etc.
Application Help
- The Help page will provide links to more information about Public Schools in North Carolina and will help you in completing the online application.
- If you are not familiar with the types of applications (Licensed, Classified, Bus Driver, Substitute), please browse through the Help page before starting an application.
- Please read System Requirements to understand which internet browsers are supported.
- If you forget your username or password, the home page has a link that will guide you through recovering your information.
- If you get stuck at any time in the process, you may Contact Us. Go to the Help page and click on Support/Contact Us.
Starting Your Application
- Create an Account.
- Complete your Profile.
- Click on "Save" at the bottom of each page. If you do not click on Save, the information you enter will be lost. If you click on the back arrow without clicking on Save, all changes you made are lost.
- To apply for a specific job opening at a School District, click on the Jobs page, find the job, and click Apply.
- To apply for jobs not listed specifically on the Jobs page but which may be open or come open at a School District, simply click on the Application page and Create New Application. Choose the School District(s) you are interested in.
- Once you have started a new application, complete the initial New Application page and click on "Save". You will then see a list of Actions and Sections appear on the left of the screen.
- Move to the next page of the application by clicking on the Section Job / School Districts. Complete this page and click on "Save".
- Complete each page the same way.
- Move to different pages by clicking on the Sections links to the left of the screen.
- Your application remains in "Draft" status until you complete all required sections and Submit.
- You may View/Print your application at any time during the process
- When you are finished filling out the application, you must Submit. After you submit your application, the School Districts you selected will be able to see it if you do not withdraw it at some time.
Required Pages and Fields
- Required fields and pages are marked with an asterisk (*). If left blank, you will not be able to save the application.
Searching For Jobs
- Positions are posted at the discretion of each participating school system and may not include all positions available throughout North Carolina. It is also a good idea to check each School District's job postings. Links are on the Jobs and Help pages.
- Click on the "Jobs" tab on the top menu. Click the "Details" link next to any position for which you wish to find more information. If you wish to be considered, then click the “Apply” button to start the application process.
- Some Counties have multiple School Districts. If you search by County such as Buncombe County, both Buncombe County and Asheville City School jobs are returned. However, if you search for Asheville City Schools, Buncombe County jobs are not returned.
- You use the Advanced Search feature to search by Keyword, School District, Position Type, Full-Time/Part-Time, and Title.
Submitting and Withdrawing Your Application
- When you are finished filling out the application, you must Submit. Until your application is complete and submitted, you will not be considered for employment at any School District.
- After you submit your application, the School Districts you selected will be able to see it if you do not withdraw it at some time.
- To withdraw your application, click on the Application page, choose the Submitted Application, click on “Withdraw” under Actions. If you withdraw your application, School Districts will no longer consider you for employment opportunities.
School System Cannot See Application
- Is your application submitted? Are you a current employee of the School District? Has it been over a year since you submitted an application? Make sure the Principal has talked to Human Resources; remind them to ask Human Resources to check the Activate/Inactive Module.
Changing Your Account Information
- Click on the Profile link located on the top menu to change such information as password, email address, etc. Changes made to password will be required the next time you access your application file.
